I purchased the Custom Epic brace in April 2022 to help with a torn MCL. As a long-distance runner, I needed something lightweight but also strong and supportive that could endure several 4-6 hour training runs in preparation for ultramarathon races throughout the summer. The Epic brace is comfortable and stable and made me more confident in my abilities, knowing that my knee would hold up to a rigorous training schedule allowing me to do what I love. I’ve been dealing with severe pain in my knees for several years.I met with the surgeon and was told my knees were bone on bone.I met with SD Medical to discuss a custom brace option and had my legs scanned with 3D imaging for my braces.
SD Medical provides Amazing service. I can not say enough good things about them. Prior to my brace for my left leg, I could walk for about 3 hours until the pain was too intense, and I would need to rest for the remainder of the day. Not only was this frustrating, but detrimental to my well-being, too. I coach Special Olympics soccer in Prince Albert. I love being outside and spending time with my dog, Cleo. When I received my made-for-me brace, I was so amazed at the fit, and I could walk up to 10-12 hour days. The brace removed the rubbing bone-on-bone pain, and I felt 20 years younger. I just received my right leg brace, and although I am adjusting to wearing both, I can not thank Steve and Jessica enough for helping me feel whole again.
When I was asked what colour I wanted my braces to be, I instantly said can you do Superman colours? Yes was the answer.
You may wonder why I went bold, here’s my answer:When I put these on every morning, it’s a reminder that I can do anything. I am capable and to never give up doing what you love. Living life and enjoying the simple things life has to offer. Playing fetch with my dog, going for groceries, spending quality time with my daughter playing badminton in the back yard, and coaching soccer.

"I thought I’d let you know I’ve cross country skied over 200 km so far this year. Here’s a pic of my ski trip to Jasper. The Epic knee brace is working fabulous and it fits well under my ski pants. BTW it’s on my right knee and can’t really tell it on me. Thankyou for everything you have done!"
